The appraisal year runs from 1st. April to 31st. March.
The NHS area team's appraisal staff will allocate a trained appraiser to you each year and send you his/her contact details, but it is your responsibility to arrange an appraisal each year.
The appointment date may be up to three months before the end of your allocated appraisal month.
If you wish to delay your appraisal beyond that timescale you need to make a formal application to the appraisal team. Your appraiser is not able to authorise a delay - you must submit the form.
The appointment needs to be booked at least 28 days beforehand.

If your revalidation date is imminent, make sure your final appraisal is at least 2 months before the revalidation date, and within 365 days of the revalidation date.
Can I have an appraisal via video link?
Only under certain strictly defined circumstances.
