The appraisal year runs from 1st. April to 31st. March.
The NHS area team's appraisal staff will allocate a trained appraiser to you each year and send you his/her contact details, but it is your responsibility to arrange an appraisal each year.
The appointment date may be up to three months before the end of your allocated appraisal month although 9 months must have elapsed between your previous and next appraisal dates.
If you wish to delay your appraisal beyond that timescale you need to make a formal application to the appraisal team. Your appraiser is not able to authorise a delay - you must submit the form.
The appointment needs to be booked at least 28 days beforehand.

They will need to co-ordinate their appraisal processes to meet the Follet principles. |
Revalidation
The GMC will email you 12 months before your revalidation is due to give you time to ensure you meet all their requirements.
In particular you must ensure both feedback surveys have been completed and the results discussed at an appraisal prior to revalidation.
